How to Enable the TM1 Advanced Rules Editor

You should turn on the Advanced Rules Editor in both TM1 and Planning Analytics! It makes editing and creating rules so much easier!

How to to Enable the TM1 Advanced Rules Editor

Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Applix\TM1\  (note this is a hidden folder so you will need to type “\appdata” once you navigate to YourUserName and then continue to navigate to the correct folder).

  • Edit tm1p.ini
  • In tm1p.ini, should change AdvancedRulesEditor to be “T” rather than “F” and save the file. It should look like this to be enabled:
  • AdvancedRulesEditor = T
  • Save and close tm1.ini

As the Advanced Rules Editor change is a client setting, there is no need to restart the TM1 server, just close and open the client again.
