Use Architect or Perspectives 10.2.x to Planning Analytics
One of the quirks of TM1 is that old versions of Architect and Perspectives is that old versions of Architect and Perspectives are able to connect to newer versions of TM1 or Planning Analytics, but NOT vice-versa (so you couldn’t, for example, connect Architect from Planning Analytics 2.0.7 to a TM1 10.2.2 model).
The configuration details for the new TM1 Analytics server are listed below. Don’t worry, you can change them back and forth whenever you need to between 10.2.x and PA.
Note also that in Excel, you cannot have the new Planning Analytics for Excel client active at the same time as Perspectives.
Steps to Connect Architect/Perspectives 10.2.2 to Planning Analytics
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is save the attached certificate (ibmtm1.arm) in the installation folder on your hard drive, probably C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1\bin\ssl. You will need to unzip the file first though!
Step2
Open the Architect or Perspectives and select File>Options. Then populate:
- Admin Host
- Certificate Authority, and
- Certificate ID
with the details below and click OK twice. Then you should be right to go.
