In TM1 viewing logs was dead easy. You just went to the TM1 server, found the logs folder and tada, there they all were. But how do you view logs when you don’t have access to the underlying file system, like on Planning Analytics as a Service?
How to View Logs in Planning Analytics as a Service
Viewing the logs in Planning Analytics as a Service (PAaaS) is not as obvious as regular TM1. But it is almost just as easy. Here is how:
- Open a Workbench in Planning Analytics Workspace
- Click on the three vertical dots on the right side of the Processes section for database and choose Error Logs.
This will open the File Manager and display all the TM1 log files directly.
- Click on the three dots for the log you want to view and select Download
This download the selected TM1 log file to your local computer.
- Open the log file.
Once it is downloaded, then just open the TM1 log in a text editor.
